Joe Jung: Music
On and On
I seem to have lost something
It’s hard to imagine where it might have gone
Thought it was here but I guess I was wrong
It certainly isn’t where it belongs
It sure is a sad old songIt’s difficult to misplace
The only one like it I ever have seen
smoother than porcelain, hotter than steam
harder than diamonds and finer than sand
and bigger than anythingAre you lonesome without it, lacking words for to shout what you’ve gained
Do you leave it behind or just sit dumb and blind with the blame
Will stand in the walk or run till you’re all out of pain
or will you fall downI’m gonna be late again
Because I’m digging through boxes where it should have been
Tearing through papers stacked under my bed
The clock tick is beating a drum in my head
I’m gonna be late againA false world is calling me:
A room full of vipers just waiting to feed
The clicking and buzzing of fluorescent screens
With another 8 hours awaiting reprieve
It goes on and on and on and onAre you lonesome without it, lacking words for to shout what you’ve gained
Do you leave it behind or just sit dumb and blind with the blame
Will stand in the walk or run till you’re all outta pain
or will you fall downI hope someone else finds it
And it offers a lift to a frown
And wipes off the tears from the eyes of a clown
And transforms a metaphor into a cloud
That looks like a Christmas tree‘Cause I’ll find me another one
Or stumble upon where it’s been all along
Just when I stop looking and start moving on
The queen takes a rook to be killed by a pawn
Let the game start over todayAre you lonesome without it, lacking words for to shout what you’ve gained
Do you leave it behind or just sit dumb and blind with the blame
Will stand in the walk or run till you’re all outta pain
or will you fall downAre you hopeless without it, staring cold with your hands in the flame
Do you kiss it goodbye or are you colored surprised by the shame
Will pound with your feet, turning heels from the mental parade
or will you fall down
